About the sentence

to go to your head

If something goes to your head, it means that something makes you become arrogant or over-confident.

This expression is often used as a warning - someone has been successful in something, and you are warning them not to become overconfident. e.g. I don't want to give him too much praise during the appraisal as I'm worried about it going to his head.

Notice the verb pattern to let sb/sth do sth. A common mistake is to use the structure *to let sb/sth to do sth

Usually, as imperfect humans, we may feel tempted to let success go to our heads. I think that it could damage relationships as well. Besides, in my opinion, most of the things or the goals we may have learned or reached are because someone’s had the willing to help us. So, I see no reason why one could boast about the goals we’ve reached until now.

I’ve known some people who have let success to go to their head but in the long run, are despised by their friends.
